This camp is designed primarily for J1’s, J2’s and athletes who will become J2’s for the 2012-13 winter season. Interested J3's must apply and be invited.
This will be a fundamental skills and technical gate training camp. The snowfields at Mt. Hood are ideally suited to a deep study of technique with an opportunity to put the skills learned into repetition on a consistently pitched training environment.
Participants will undergo skills assessment and individualized training plans for the camp will be designed for each athlete as the camp progresses.
Week 1 will consist mainly of fundamental skills assessment and training (e.g. considerable focused repetition); Week 2 will consist mainly of integrating fundamental technical gains into gate training and specific tactical scenarios.
Video study will be used extensively and there will be evening lectures on various aspects of skiing technique and tactics. Participants will be expected to create an account on sprongo.com to facilitate video analysis.
Food is included in the camp cost and will consist of breakfast at the residence, packed lunch at the mountain, and dinner at the residence.
Activities will include: Hiking, biking, climbing, rafting, ice skating, etc. (participants should bring extra funds to cover extracurricular activities such as rafting)
